About the program
As the Trainee Administration Officer, you will be working in a team environment supporting the Program Services teams to deliver administration services, covering Reception duties when required on behalf of Larrakia Nation Aboriginal Corporation (LNAC).

Conditions of employment covered by the Larrakia Nation Aboriginal Corporation Enterprise Agreement 2024. Salary range starting at $28.71 per hour. Option to salary package a maximum of $15,899 from your gross salary each year; 5 weeks pro rata annual leave per year; and a 35-hour week. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with general office administration tasks.
- Prepare and format documents, reports, and correspondence.
- Maintain electronic and paper filing systems.
- Support staff with daily operational tasks.
- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, clients, and staff.
- Greet visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
- Answer incoming phone calls and direct enquiries to the appropriate staff member.
- Manage the reception area, ensuring it remains tidy and presentable.
- Assist with appointment scheduling and visitor sign-in procedures.
- Receive and distribute incoming mail, deliveries, and courier items.
- Assist with scheduling meetings and preparing meeting rooms.
- Scan, photocopy, and distribute documents as required.
- Maintain office supplies and notify supervisors when stock levels are low.
- Assist with basic spreadsheet and database updates.
- Raise purchase orders and purchase requests.
- Participate in structured traineeship training and assessments.
- Develop skills in office systems, customer service, and business processes.
- Apply learning from training to day-to-day tasks.
- Seek feedback and actively develop administration capabilities.
- Support the Deputy CEO in a range of projects and tasks.
Key Selection Criteria
- Identify as Indigenous youth, 17 – 25 years old.
- Understanding of cultural protocols, together with a willingness to work respectfully in accordance with Larrakia and other Indigenous culture
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Friendly and professional customer service skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy with strong organisational and time-management skills
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office or similar)
- A valid Working with Children (OCHRE) Card, current Police check (within 3 months) and Current NT Driver’s Licence or Learners Permit
It would be considered an advantage if applicants also:
- Identify as Larrakia
- Hold a Current NT Driver’s Licence or Learners Permit
