About the role

As the Accounts Payable Officer, you will be working in a team environment supporting the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to deliver finance and payroll services on behalf of Larrakia Nation Aboriginal Corporation (LNAC).

Conditions of employment covered by the Larrakia Nation Aboriginal Corporation Enterprise Agreement 2024.  Salary range starting at $34.58 per hour. Option to salary package a maximum of $15,899 from your gross salary each year; 5 weeks pro rata annual leave per year; and a  21-hour week (with reasonable additional hours when required). Key responsibilities

Undertake the full accounts payable process for weekly creditors payments 

Preparation, coding, recording and payment of weekly accounts payable 
Handle accounts enquiries and follow up as needed
Raise Purchase Orders for program staff and manage open PO register
Contribute accounts payable reporting and information to program managers when requested
Maintain accurate financial records for audit and compliance
Provide general administrative support and adhoc work assigned by the finance team as required

Key Selection Criteria

Hands on recent experience with MYOB Accountright
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite particularly Excel
A team player who builds strong relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and stakeholders
High level attention to detail with the ability to work independently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
Solid understanding of financial principles related to accounts payable
Relevant accounting qualification

It would be considered an advantage if applicants also possess:

  • Experience working with Indigenous people in the community
